VFP and VPM together are an unbeatable combination. You know that or you wouldn't have made the move to work with them. But then you come the realization that there is an awful lot involved in setting up the Data Dictionary, especially when you start making changes! Isn't there an easier way? At some point, you begin to ask yourself, "coudn't an awful lot of this process be automated?" It all begins with Design: your application's success depends on the structure of your data. xCase is a superb Entity-Relationship design tool designed to work with VFP, and also able to move your data model to client-server backends. Getting there from here: so you have your data structure in xCase, but how will you go about getting it into VPM's Data Dictionary? And what will you do about all the extended Data Dictionary attributes used by VPM? That's where xCase2VPM comes in: it is the glue that binds the two together. How much time will you save? Take a look at the features described below. Can you imagine saving fewer than 20 hours on a 6-week project? A more realistic estimate would be a savings in time of 40 to 60 hours. How much do you value your time?

xCase To VPM |
Move xCase Information To VPM Options allow you to control every aspect of data structure generation. All the views required for VPM operation are generated for you, with no additional effort. You will never use the Table Designer again! Using xCase's powerful View Designer, you will never again get a message (all too common with the VFP View Designer) that your view is too complex to build. Most views are made for you, including views that use FIND<field> clauses you define easily in xCase, usually by providing a list of fields you wish to be included. Even views with descriptive fields from related tables are created automatically for you. |

VPM To xCase |
Move VPM information Back to xCase This process allows you to move VPM DD information to xCase, complementing what xCase accomplishes with its import capabilities. In addition, minor changes you make in VPM can be easily moved back to xCase, easing the development process. |

Set Remote Views |
